What can these negative beliefs/programs do to me?
Stress is the biggest contributor of disease. There are many kinds of stresses that affect the body. There is the stress most people think of when we hear the word, which is the effect of the outside world on us: stress about money, love, parenting, etc. Then there is environmental stress on our body. That is the toxins and chemicals that our bodies are exposed to every day. Both those stresses lower the power of your immune system and can contribute to illness. Our bodies can heal itself from almost anything. But when all these things take a little chunk our of our immune system’s ability to do its work, then illness is sure to follow.
A stress that most of us don’t think of are our negative programs and beliefs we hold in our subconscious. If you use muscle testing and just think of something negative or someone whom you have problems with or an event that negatively affected you in your life, that muscle test will go weak. Your energy field is weakened by those things. All illness starts in our energy field before it manifests into something physical. So all those little negative programs we have running in our subconscious — each is a small hit. Together with environmental stresses and outside-world stresses, it’s no wonder that we have so many chronic illnesses now.
I believe that we create our world and everything in it. Most of us, though, create it unconsciously, having no idea that we create it. What we put our focus on is what we create. But even more strongly than that, what is running in our subconscious is creating our reality. We create about 99% with our subconscious and about 1% with our conscious mind. So if you don’t know why you always attract the wrong person in a relationship or you always encounter rude people, or you always sabotage yourself when trying to accumulate wealth, or in a job, or sabotage your relationships, it is more than likely because you have a program running in your subconscious that you are not even aware of, but is influencing your life in a big way and creating your reality. If you’ve learned about the Law of Attraction, you know what you put your focus on, you bring more of into your life. But even more of a determinate is what your subconscious mind is putting focus on and believing. If you’ve ever done all the things that you learned to do to attract into your life the things that you want, but they still don’t manifest, there’s a good chance there is something in your subconscious that is preventing that thing that you want to come into your life. That’s what is so great about ThetaHealing is that we can figure out what the beliefs and blocks are and remove them so that you can start attracting a different life because your subconscious will be sending out different signals to the Universe about what you should have.
When we have a lot of negative programs and emotions running in our subconscious and/or tend to focus on the negative in situations, what we focus on, we tend to bring more into our life. Here’s some examples. I almost never encounter bad drivers or rude service people. I used to encounter it not a lot, but a considerable amount more than I do now. Did the world change? No. I did. I remember a story that Wayne Dyer told. It goes something like this. A woman was planning on moving to a city and asked how the people are here, whether they’re friendly and nice. The man responded, “How are they where you live?” The woman said, They are very nice and friendly.” He said, “They’re pretty much like that here too.” Another woman came up and said they same thing to the man about the same city. He asked, “How are they where you live?” She said, “They are not very friendly and sometimes rude.” He said, “They’re pretty much like that here too. Now what is the moral? Same city, same people, but different person looking at it. The first woman probably focuses on positive things and love while the second lady probably focuses on the negative in situations and people. What we focus on, we bring more of into our lives. There are very few situations that you cannot find something positive in. Try finding something positive in everything, and watch as you draw more positiveness into your life.
Start purposely looking for the positives in situations and the people in your lives and see what happens. Do you have that picture of how you want your life to be but keep getting the opposite. You may have blocks blocking it from manifesting. You may be focusing on the fact that you don’t have what you want, the lack of it. You may be focusing on wanting it instead of having it. If you always say “I want …” the universe will continue to grant that and you will continue to want it, which means you don’t “have” it. See what you want in your mind as if you already have it. Feel the emotion of it, which is an important part of it. I have seen experiments where brain activity shows that your brain reacts the same way whether you are really doing something or imagining it in your mind. It doesn’t know the difference.
When I would get a parking spot right up by the store I was going to, I would say, “I love when I get parking spots right up front.” And, “Thank you for a spot right up front.” And more and more frequently, I would pull up to a store, and there would be a spot or someone just pulling out close to the entrance. Now it occurs about 90% of the time. I don’t think you can discount that as chance. And I still say thanks and smile to myself as I pull in. Now that’s not a major thing in life, but if you can create that, you can create anything.
I do closed captioning for part of my work, and I did a show on people with cancer. Most I think had come through it and were in remission. When asked if they could go back and change it and not have had cancer, only one person said they would change it. Most said that the journey had changed them in such a profound way that they would not change the journey. It wasn’t easy or fun, but sometimes to learn a big life lesson or really change something we want to change but don’t really put in the effort, it has to be a huge thing that you can’t ignore. There may have been other opportunities to change before that were less dramatic, but we choose to not notice. Some people say be careful what you wish for because you just might get it. If you ask for change and things to be different, know the universe will give you those opportunities. But they may not come in a way you were thinking when you asked for the change. You may lose your job or end a relationship or get an illness. But if you ask for change mindfully and really know how you want it to look and focus upon that, it doesn’t have to happen in what we would call a negative or dramatic way.
I believe that one of biggest issues is that we try to deny part of ourselves exists — namely the dark side, that part that gets angry and has bad thoughts and doesn’t always do the “right” thing. We are taught that those parts of us are “bad.” So we try to run away from that side of us, to deny it exists, to push it down. That can get us into trouble with road rage, passive aggressive behavior, depression, self-esteem issues, sexual dysfunctions, addictions. We have to embrace ourselves, the good and the bad. Often the things that irritate you the most in other people are things in yourself that you’re not willing to look at.
Here is a quote from Creator/God/Source or whatever name you give, from Conversations with God Book 3:
“Now I will tell you something you may find difficult to believe.
I am always giving you what is best for you… though I admit that you may not always know it.
This mystery clears up a bit now that you have begun to understand what I am up to.
I am God.
I am the Goddess.
I am the Supreme Being. The All of Everything. The Beginning of the End. The Alpha and Omega.
I am the Sum and the Substance. The Question and the Answer. The Up and the Down of it. The Left and the Right, the Here and the Now, the Before and the After.
I am the Light, and I am the Darkness that creates the Light, and makes it possible. I am the Goodness Without End, and the “Badness” which makes the “Goodness” good. I am all of these things, the All of Everything, and I cannot experience any part of My Self without experiencing All of My Self.
And this is what you do not understand about Me.
You want to make Me the one and not the other. The high and not the low. The good and not the bad. Yet in denying half of Me, you deny half of your Self. And in so doing, you can never be Who You Really Are.
I am the Magnificent Everything, and what I am seeking is to know Myself experientially. I am doing this through you, and through everything else that exists. And I am experiencing My Self as magnificent through the choices I make. For each choice is self creative. Each choice is definitive. Each choice represents Me — that is, re-presents Me — as Who I Choose to Be Right Now.
Yet I cannot choose to be magnificent unless there is something to choose from. Some part of Me must be less than magnificent for Me to choose the part of Me which is magnificent.
So, too, is it with you.
I am God, in the act of creating My Self.
And so, too, are you.”
